Lord Baden-Powell described scouting as "A game with a purpose". Our Boy Scout Troop leadership is committed to providing scouts the ability to grow and develop leadership skills in such an environment where they learn about responsibility. Troop 353 participates in a wide variety of activities to enable every scout the opportunity to explore based on their personal preferences.

Hiking, camping, snow skiing, horseback riding and float trips are examples of some of our outings. Every winter, the troop operates a Christmas Tree lot as a fundraiser.

In 2001 we participated in a weeklong Summer Camp at Long Peaks Council's Ben Delatour Scout Ranch in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. Summer Camp for 2002 was held at S-F Scout Ranch in southeast Missouri. Summer Camp 2003 was a trip to Blue Ridge Mountains Scout Camp in Virginia, with a side trip to Washington DC. We are working toward our 2004 Summer Camp at SeaBase in Florida and will also sponsor a local summer camp at S-F Scout Ranch.
