$ 100 /person due now (January 24th ) to hold reservation.

Estimated Transportation Expenses:

Please keep in mind that for this trip we are estimated "high" based on current information. We will not be able to confirm transportation costs UNTIL July '02.

No transportion company will commit a cost to us until we are essentially a "Year Out"

We have been estimating Transportation to be \\$300 - $500 additional on top of Camp Fee just for your planning purposes and if it is less (which is a great benefit!!!) then it will assist all of us in our additional planning and budgeting for this trip.

Sea Explorers, 13 and above Sea Base cost \\$550 + $300 = $850 round up $900
Trip Sea Base transportation $300 now

Tall Ship, 14 and above Sea Base cost $540 + $300 + transportation to Bahamas ($300) = $1140 round up to $1200 trip **

** We are exploring 2 options for the Bahamas Tall Ship segment of the trip. We may fly direct from St. Louis to the Abacos, Island, Bahamas OR St. Louis to Key West, FL then from Key West, FL to Abacos Island, Bahamas

Proposed fee payment schedule, and again anyone will be able to pre-pay.

We are recommending that everyone acquire a US Passport for this Trip - whether you are attending at Sea Exploring or Tall Ship in the Bahamas.

Passport Information will be distributed to everyone once we have secured our reservation for the Trip. Please Let Dave or Debbie know if you and/or your scout already have a Passport.

We are asking everyone to start this process as it is time consuming. The reason we are requesting that EVERYONE have a Passport is because of Security Levels at the Airports and other locations since Sept. 11th.

Those going to the Bahamas HAVE TO HAVE A PASSPORT!!!

We also need to form a FUND RAISING Committee. We are asking that 2-3 people Volunteer to be Co-Chairs for this activity so that responsibilities and efforts are spread. Whomever takes on this committee is certainly open to setting it up however they wish.

This committee is a "have to have." To reduce out of pocket costs for adults and scouts - and by the way - it is a rule that scouts are supposed to EARN their camp funds and not rely on their parents - So, this is also a life lesson that will add appreciation to the event.

We've a significant amount of funds PER PERSON to earn and it is achievable and reasonable to earn these funds with additional fundraisers.

Anyone who is interested in this Committee, please contact Dave Fitzsimmons and/or Debbie Davis.

Funds currently available from Krispy Krème Sales and Christmas Tree Lot Sales can be used for towards Sea Base.

We are also still in need of 5 People to help Man the Phone Bank on February 4th. We will have one phone number to call and the key to this - to getting into Sea Base Reservation Desk is by sheer volume of calls.

We will have Information Sheets in which to work off of when one of us gets through.

Time is 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. possibly until noon. For those signed up, Directions and Specific information for this will provided at next weeks Troop Meeting. Location is in O'Fallon area.
